I am reading through II Corinthians. This book is a testament to the life of Paul. He had been accused of many failures by the Corinthian people as evidenced by his rebuttals in the first chapters of this book. It is very clear that Paul was a hard worker, a passionate worker, and a hopeful worker. He was clear in his message and determined to share this message of Jesus Christ to everyone who would listen.
I love the passage in II Corinthians 3:8 that speaks of being pressed and not crushed, persecuted but not abandoned. This verse displays the strength of Paul. But it is the verses just previous to this that speak more to me that Paul was vunerable. He says that he is like a “fragile clay jar that contains this great treasure.” Sometimes I feel like a fragile clay jar but it is my hope that in those moments the great treasure of knowing Christ is displayed to others. Paul says it best at the end of verse 7 “This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.”
My prayer is that I would display the power of this witness in my whole life.
