God instructs His people that they will worship in a central location in the promised land. The idea that God wants to get across is that they will worship as a nation and as a people. There is something to going somewhere to accomplish a set purpose that seems to allow for proper preparation and proper reverence. This is much like today. We are challenged to go to church every Sunday to worship God. Many of us go without even thinking about the significance of it. We should stop before we go and prepare our hearts like the people of Israel had to prepare their sacrifices and offerings. Each Sunday should be an emotional and spiritual time to dedicate your life to what God wants to do.
